Nile Online Refer & Earn Terms & Conditions

1. Purpose


This policy defines the eligibility, process, and reward conditions for the Nile Online Refer & Earn Programme (“the Programme”), designed to reward individuals who refer new students that successfully enrol and pay for eligible Nile Online programmes.  

 

2. Definitions

- Company / We / Us: Nile University of Nigeria (Nile Online).
- Referrer / You: An individual who signs up to participate in the Refer & Earn Programme.
- Referral: A prospective student who uses the referral code during their application process who has not previously enrolled in a Nile Online programme before.
- Referral Code: The unique code assigned to a Referrer for tracking referrals.
- Qualified Enrolment: A student who meets all criteria in Section 6 and whose payment/enrolment has been verified.

 

3. Scope


The Nile Online Refer & Earn Programme applies exclusively to Nile Online programmes (undergraduate, postgraduate, executive development programmes, and professional programmes/courses). It excludes on-campus Nile University programmes.

 

4. Eligibility


The Programme is open to:

 • Current Nile University or Nile Online students

 • Alumni of Nile University or its subsidiaries

 • Education Agents

 • Influencers

 • Members of the public  
 • Partner organisations of Nile University or Nile Online  


Not eligible:
Nile University staff.

 

5. Programme Sign-Up


• Referrers must complete the official Referral Registration Form.  
• Acceptance is at Nile Online’s discretion; applications may be rejected or revoked.  
• By applying, Referrers confirm they have read and agree to these Terms Including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 data processing statement in Clause 10 below.  

 

6. Referral Criteria


A referral is valid if the referred student:

1. Applies, undergoes Nile Online's admission process and is successful, makes tuition payment, and enrols within the next three intakes of the relevant programme.   

2. Has not started an application with Nile University or Nile Online in the last 12 months.  

3. Pays at least one semester fee for degree programmes or Executive Development Programmes, or the full course fee for short courses.   

4. The referred student completes the first academic year (degree programmes), completes the first semester (Executive Development Programmes), or completes their course (short courses).  

 

Each applicant can only have one referrer. The reward is assigned to the Referrer whose code was used first during the application process. Nile Online alumni will not be considered as referred students. Admission of referred students must undergo Nile Online's admission process. A referral does not guarantee admission.

8. Reward Payment


• Rewards are paid via approved payment partners after Finance confirms eligibility.
• Degree rewards are paid in August, following the academic year.  
• Executive Development Programmes are paid after the completion of the 1st  Semester.   
• Professional Development Course rewards are paid after course completion.  
• Disputes must be raised within 30 days of payout notification.  

 

All rewards are subject to the applicable taxes per the Withholding Tax Regulations 2024.  

 

9. Acceptable Promotion & Code of Conduct


Referrers must act responsibly and may not:

• Misrepresent affiliation with Nile University/Nile Online.  
• Bid on or use “Nile”, “Nile Online”, or related trademarks in paid ads or domains.  
• Engage in spam, automated or deceptive activity, fake leads, or “self-referrals”.  
• Offer unapproved discounts or sub-referral schemes.  
• Post referral codes on Nile Online’s official pages or groups.  
• Make misleading claims about programmes, outcomes, or pricing.  

 

Violations may result in suspension, withheld rewards, or termination of the Programme as against the violating referrer.  

 

10. Data Protection & Consent


• All data is processed in accordance with the NDPA and the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025.  
• Referrers may not store, share, or sell referral data or use it beyond this Programme.  

 

11. Tracking & Verification


• Referral codes must be submitted via the official application portal to qualify.  
• All submissions are tracked in Nile Online’s CRM system (HubSpot) for transparency.  
• Nile Online reserves the right to audit or reject referrals that do not meet the criteria or appear fraudulent.  

 

12. Confidentiality


Referrers must keep Nile’s operational, financial, or student data confidential and must not publish or share such information without written permission of the referral.

 

13. Termination


• Either party may terminate participation at any time.  
• Nile Online may suspend or terminate referrers from this Programme for misconduct, fraud, or non-compliance.  
• Eligible, verified rewards accrued before termination will be honoured; disputed or fraudulent ones will not.  

 

14. Programme Changes


Nile Online may update these terms, eligibility rules, or reward amounts at any time. Changes will be communicated via the official referral webpage or registered email. Continued participation signifies acceptance.  

 

15. Limitation of Liability


Nile Online shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in this Programme or for any technical issues encountered by a Referrer or Referral.  

 

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution


This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.  
Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith dialogue, failing which they may be settled by mediation in accordance with the provisions of the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023.  

 

17. Acceptance


By registering to become a Referrer or participating in the Programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
