What can I expect from my eCampus onboarding?

In this article, you will learn about the onboarding steps that you go through when you first login to the eCampus.

The eCampus onboarding journey is designed to inform you and equip you with the resources to be successful at Nile Online. 

When you login to the eCampus for the first time, you will be taken through a series of onboarding steps. It is important that you complete these steps in preparation to begin your programme with us. 

What can I expect from eCampus onboarding?

The onboarding journey is designed to equip you with the information and resources required for you to succeed in an online learning environment. During the eCampus onboarding journey, you can expect to:

• Watch a video about Nile Online
• Sign the code of conduct
• Get set up on the online community
• Download and login to the mobile app
• Update your personal information on your profile

Get to know the eCampus (Introduction video)

The first part of the onboarding journey will show you a video of what its like to study at Nile Online! Watch the video carefully to learn about all the exciting aspects of what its like to study with us.

Sign the Code of Conduct

The next onboarding step requires you to sign the code of conduct. Please read through the Code of Conduct carefully. Once you agree to the terms outlined in the Code of Conduct, tick the digital signature box to move onto the next step. If you have any queries pertaining to the Code of Conduct, please reach out to a member of Student Success.

Join the Online Community

After signing the Code of Conduct, you will be prompted to join the Online Community. The Online Community is a space for students of Nile Online to connect and communicate with their peers. 

 

When you  first land on this page, you will see a button that contains the text 'Join your community now'. This link will take you to another page whereby you will be able to sign up to the online community. 

Once you have inputted your name and gone through a verification process, you should proceed to input your email and password to access the Discord channel. 

Enter the same email and password that you used to access the eCampus. From there, you will be able to access the channel and begin communicating with your peers!

Download the mobile app

 

After you've joined the Online Community, you should click continue whereby you will proceed to a page that allows you to download the mobile app. The Canvas mobile app is a useful resource that will become a pivotal part of your armoury throughout your learning journey with Nile Online.

Click on the button that says 'I have downloaded the mobile app' which will take you to a link on the Google Play store.

If you use an Applie IPhone, you should use this link to download the app from the App store. 

Download the app to your mobile phone and proceed to the next step in the onboarding process, which is to login to the mobile app.

Login to the mobile app

 

Now that you've downloaded the mobile app, if you continue on your onboarding journey, you will be able to set up your Canvas mobile app - the resource that allows you to learn on the go!

Click on the button 'Create password'. If you've already downloaded the app, you should be able to open it. 

Open the Canvas app and select 'Find my school'. 

Choose 'Nile University' or 'nileonline' - both will direct you to the correct place.

Login using your credentials.

You will now be able to access your content!

 

Update your profile

Once you've logged into the mobile app and clicked 'continue' on your eCampus page, you will be directed to a page that asks you to update your profile. 

 

Click 'Go to my profile' where you'll be able to begin updating your profile!
